Dr. Samrat Chatterjee
Cornea & Anterior Segment
Dr Samrat Chatterjee did his MBBS from Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati, Assam and Post Graduate Degree (MS) in Ophthalmology from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Guwahati in 1999. He underwent fellow-ship training in Cornea & Anterior Segment from L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad in 2001. He joined MGM Eye Institute in 2004 as Consultant in the Cornea & Anterior Segment Services. He also looks after the Microbiology Department in the Institute. His area of interest lies in corneal infections, corneal graft, ocular surface diseases and ocular allergy.
Dr. Chaterjee was also awarded the Gold Medal for the highest mark in Ophthalmology in the final MBBS examination. He has presented papers in various National and International conferences. He is also reviewer for British Journal of Ophthalmology. He was awarded the Dr. Anand Saxena Award for Best Free Paper in Chhattisgarh State Ophthalmological Conference in 2006. In 2011, he received Dr J L Arya Award for Best paper in Community Ophthalmology, CSOS; in 2013, he received Dr Vijay Mehra Award for Best paper in Human Lens, CSOS and in 2014, he received AIOS Award in Inflammation, AIOS Rakesh Sharma Memorial Award in Trauma and Orbis Award for Best Free Paper in Community Ophthalmology in ESCRS.
