MGM Eye Institute (MGMEI) a tertiary eye institute was established in Raipur, the Capital of Chhattisgarh in November 2004 with a mission to provide high quality comprehensive eye care services to all including the economically underprivileged in an equitable manner.MGMEI is a self sustained not for profit organization and providing services to the economically underprivileged free of cost. The institute has both paying and non-paying category and all the patients are treated with equal importance and dignity.We have the following sub-speciality services:
Apart from these aforesaid services, the institute has a dedicated Eye Bank and is a centre for treating all types of Ocular Trauma Cases. The Institute has five most advanced state-of-the-art Operation Theaters conforming to international standards with latest and highly sophisticated equipments. Apart from well trained & experienced ophthalmologists in all sub-specialities, the institute has a team of dedicated paramedical & non-medical staff also for the treatment of curable blindness.
MGMEI under the Community Outreach Programme organizing free eye screening camps in different parts of the state specially in remote and tribal areas. MGMEI is conducting Screening & Awareness Programmes in Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). The institute is also conducting Eye Donation Awareness Programme and School Eye Screening Programme.
Apart from the clinical services the institute is giving importance to the education activity. The institute is offering DNB Course under National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and providing Optometry Internship Programme. To develop skilled Paramedical manpower the institute is providing 1 year Vision Technician training and Ophthalmic Nursing Assistant Training. Moreover, the Institute is also recognized as Training Centre for Government States’ Medical Colleges/Union territories Ophthalmologists.
